Incrementally Launching Method is a popular segmental construction methodology because of various factors viz no disruption in traffic movement, minimal formwork as well as quick erection of bridge.

ILM bridges require a high degree of technology for both design and construction, and hence demand sophisticated structural analysis and design techniques when compared with other types of conventional bridges. The most important aspect for an ILM bridge would be its construction sequence. Critical intermediate structure conditions like time dependent forces, temporary supports, multi-cycle pre-stressing, etc. governing the design of structure would be discussed in this session.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. To understand modeling of Curved PSC Box Girder Bridge constructed using Incremental launching method.
2. To know the application of moving load as per TMH-7 in midas Civil.
3. To understand the extraction of results during construction cycle and during service life.
